Learn decorating tips and tricks from the talented pastry chefs of Quattro Restaurant at The Four Seasons-Slilicon Valley in East Palo Alto. Each child will take home a Gingerbread house and a holiday decoration they can boast about all season long.

  Meet Rachel Ray at Santana Row, Dec. 11
Cookbook author, talk show host and Food Network star Rachael Ray returns to Santana Row’s Sur La Table, where she will sign copies of her new cookbook, Rachael Ray’s Look + Cook.  Rachael will also host a brief Q&A prior to her book signing in Santana Row Park. This will be a ticketed event.  To receive a ticket, customers must pre-purchase a book at Sur La Table by calling or visiting the store. A ticket will also reserve you a seat during her Q&A.

Grow your own mushrooms with Veggielution at Emma Prushch Park, Dec. 11
Learn the basics of mushroom cultivation and how to gather the necessary supplies for growing the mild flavored mushrooms at home. Go home with your own bag of oyster spawn that will produce beautiful blooms of oyster mushrooms in your kitchen.

The Holiday Cheer class will give you the opportunity to learn more about cheese in an informal yet informative environment. Focusing on tasting unique artisanal and farmstead cheeses. This class will also showcase sparkling wine, port and truffles.

Sur La table Cooking class, Dec. 13
Learn to cook an international selection of holiday desserts at this festive class at Sur La Table. On the menu is Christmas pudding with rum butter sauce, “sufganiyot” spiced fritters in syrup, panatone, Scandinavian rosettes, and buche de noel with marzipan mushrooms.

Poultry 101 at Love Apple Farm, Dec. 14
Manresa chef de cuisine Jacob Pilarski is back with another intriguing class at Love Apple Farm designed to get you comfortable with taking on the whole bird.This class is a must for home cooks who would like to hone their knife skills, poultry knowledge and get closer to the food that’s on the table.  Jacob will take students from start to finish on a whole chicken sourced from Soquel’s Fogline Farm, with special attention to preserving the most out of each cut of meat.
  Santana Row Holiday for Second Harvest, Dec. 14. 21 and 28
Santana Row has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to give back to those less fortunate in our community this holiday season. “Shop, Enjoy & Give” is a holiday wine and dine-around event that takes place on the next three tuesdays 6-9 pm. Enjoy wine tasting, food sampling and discounts inside select shops and restaurants at Santana Row each week. Tickets are $20 for a wine glass and passport to participating shops and restaurants and proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Plus, if you bring in a canned food item, you get $3 off your ticket price when you purchase from the Santana Row Concierge.
