The SJPD has arrested five men for allegedly kidnapping a local businessman and demanding $1 million in ransom from his family. The suspects include three residents of San Jose, as well as residents of Hayward and Los Angeles.
The victim, who is described as a local food business owner, was released from a home in the 1100 block of Fargate Circle and taken to the hospital, where he was treated for injuries resulting from the incident. According to police, he threw himself out of a second story window while still bound with duct tape when the raid occurred.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
