Meet San Jose native Lewis Buzbee, author of the award-winning teenage mystery books Steinbeck’s Ghost and The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop. Buzbee’s newest adventure is The Haunting of Charles Dickens, an atmospheric ghost mystery set in Victorian London.
Sankai Juku: Tobari
This enigmatic dance comprises seven tableaus depicting “the cosmos of life” in cycles of birth, death and rebirth. Sankai Juku describes Tobari (literally “curtain”) as: “Happiness and sadness, light and darkness, life and death – they all waver softly like a hanging cloth.”
Moreno Gistain Piano Duo
Four hands are better than two. The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo is formed by brothers Juan Fernando and Jose Enrique Moreno Gistain. They’re performing a “Spanish Inspiration” program which includes several pieces originally written for symphony orchestra but transcribed for piano four hands.
